Practical Info

Everything you need to know about Gŵyl Gobaith 2011, what to bring, and how to get there on the day. See the location page for an interactive map.

The concert arena will open at 4.30pm on all three concert days. There will be pre-concert entertainment from 6.00pm. Please feel free to arrive early and picnic in the park. You may bring your own picnic, or there will be several local businesses selling food. A bar will also be available. You may bring your own picnic furniture, please note that gazebos will not be permitted

Occasionally, inclement weather can disrupt an open air event. Any decision to cancel a concert will be taken only at the advertised start time. No refund will be made if the concert starts but is later abandoned.

All details were correct at the time of inclusion, but please note that artists and programmes may change at short notice due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. All concerts are subject to licence.

Location

This year, we are delighted that the festival will be held in the beautiful and idyllic surroundings of Glyndŵr University / Deeside College / Northop Campus (formerly the Welsh College of Horticulture). Festival Food

There will be all kinds of food available to buy on the site including:

Over the past 8 years have catered at most major events in Wales.

We are pleased this year to have been invited to the Gŵyl Gobaith music festival and hope you will visit us for some delicious food including freshly battered cod and chips, oriental stir fried noodles, French style crepes, fresh Italian roasted coffee and also why not join us for a glass, or even a jug of refreshing Pimms at our Pimms bar.

Is there disabled parking?
Yes, very close to the festival site.

Is food available on site?
There are several food outlets and hampers can be ordered via the web link.

Is wine available on site?
Yes, wine will be available to purchase.

Can we bring our own drinks on site?
Yes, but we do not allow drinking glasses on site.

Where is the nearest train station?
Flint – 3 miles with taxis available.

How far are the public car parks?
In the next field, maximum 10 minute walk.

Is there wheelchair access?
Good wheelchair access with special seating area for wheelchairs.

Are there toilet facilities?
Ample toilet facilities with disabled toilet close to the wheelchair area.

What time will the festival finish?
Approximately 10.30pm.

Is there a covered area?
No

Are gazebos allowed?
We regret that, for safety reasons, guests will not be able to bring their own gazebos on site.

Is there public transport to the site?
No, but a bus service runs through the village of Northop which is a 15 minute walk away.

Is seating provided?
No, but priory seating can be booked via the web page.

Will the festival be clearly signed?
Directional signs on approach from the A55.

Is there somewhere to put a caravan on site?

Yes there is room for 25 caravans at £15 for the three nights with proof of ticket to the festival. There are on site showers and toilets for use by caravan owners but no electrical feed available. To book a pitch please contact the Festival Production Manager Arwel Hughes

The camp site opens at 12 noon on Friday the 26 of August and owners should report to the site office to receive their pitch number.
