Our Charities

Airbus in the UK’s nominated charity is CLIC Sargent

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people and we help families across the UK and support children and young people from birth to 24 years-old.

CLIC Sargent has one simple aim: to reduce the impact of childhood cancer. Our care professionals provide clinical, practical and emotional support and our health and social care professionals include nurses, social workers, youth workers and play specialists.

CLIC Sargent provides financial help to meet extra costs, free accommodation close to specialist cancer centres for families and holidays in the UK. We aim to be there from the point of diagnosis and help the whole family cope with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.

CLIC Sargent involves children and young people with cancer in its work, and helps them to speak out about their needs.

The support of the public is very important to us and with the money raised CLIC Sargent wants to improve the lives of children and young people with cancer. We would like to thank Airbus in the UK for nominating us as one of the Charities for Gwyl Gobaith Music Festival.

Gardner’s Chartered Accountants’ nominated charity is the Glan Clwyd Hospital Cancer Unit

NORTH WALES CANCER TREATMENT CENTRE.

The North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre at Glan Clwyd hospital provides inpatient, outpatient and support services for cancer patients across the whole of North Wales.

Through generous donations the Centre has been able to improve treatment and add greatly to patient comfort and convenience. Many items of additional equipment and facilities at the Centre have been provided through the efforts of our many fundraisers and supporters.

Donations help the Centre in:
Researching and developing new treatment methods for cancer.
Buying new equipment and services for cancer patients.
Buying specialist books and providing staff training.
Accessing haematology equipment and scientific research.

Your help can make a real difference.

We would like to thank Gardners Chartered Accountants and Gŵyl Gobaith for their support.

Windpower Wales’ nominated Charity is Wales Air Ambulance

Wales Air Ambulance will be celebrating its 10th birthday party in style this summer on Friday the 26 of August, thanks to a special collaboration with the Gŵyl Gobaith Music Festival.

Wales Air Ambulance is an all Wales charity providing a vital service through emergency air cover for those who face life-threatening illness or injuries.

Owing to its widely scattered population and diverse landscape, many in Wales live in isolated locations far from an accident and emergency service. Also, the ever increasing problem of traffic congestion and collisions in more urban areas denotes delayed response times for land ambulances. For these reasons, there is a recognised need for three helicopters on active duty 365 days a year.

It is widely believed that a patient’s chances of survival and early recovery are increased if they receive the right care within the first hour, otherwise known as the Golden Hour. The quick response times and the expert medical care provided by the Wales Air Ambulance crews across Wales ensure that this Golden Hour is achieved every time.

The charity needs to raise over £5 million per year to operate the service. The charity raises all the funds required for the day to day running of missions, with each mission on average costing £1200.

We would like to thank Windpower Wales and Gŵyl Gobaith for their support.
